Break the Mould II continues Haejune Hwang’s exploration of the relationship between porcelain, light, and form. Building upon Break the Mould I, this new phase moves from solid, volumetric objects to thin, planar compositions that emphasize spatial and sculptural presence.
She developed a method of using plaster moulds to control the thickness of porcelain. Subtle variations in thickness create layered translucency, transforming light into visible patterns. Break the Mould II invites audiences to experience moments where material, light, and space quietly intersect.
